Tomorrow is Veterans Day, now I don't know how many people out there is blogger world know what this day actually symbolizes. Wikopedia defines it as follows:
Veterans Day is the American name for the international day called Armistice Day. It falls on 11 November, the anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended World War One. It is both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states. The same day is observed elsewhere as Remembrance Day or Armistice Day. All major hostilities of World War 1 were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice. Armistice Day was first commemorated in the
Veterans Day may not mean a lot to some of the people out there. But, the fighting men and women of the Armed Services it means a heck of a lot. It also means something to all the families of the Armed Services members. Now, like me when I was little I saw it as other day that I get off from school, and for sometime I did not know the meaning behind the day. As for now, I fully understand the reason behind the day. And, I am proud that there is a day that is set aside to recognize all the Veterans of the Armed Forces. I myself am a son of a father and mother that severed in the Armed Forces. My dad was in the Air Force and the Navy, all together he spent 35yrs in. My mom only did her 4yrs I believe, but it does not take away from the fact that she did her time in the service.
To all the veterans out there and the men and woman serving in the Armed Forces I want to say Thank You. Without your bravery to serve and at times fight we would not have the rights and freedom that we have.
