New Year

Good day to you all! And, a happy new year! That's right, another year bits the dust. Is it just me, or did 2007 seem to fly by? I mean, it just seemed that it started and then it was over. I guess the old saying is true, times flies when you are having fun. Then on the other hand, times comes to a stand still when you are bored out of your mind. I hope everyone had a good new year and hope the new year brings you happiness and joy.

On a different note, me and my family of 2 are thinking about relocating. My wife has been in the same area her whole life and would like a change of scenery. I cannot really blame her myself I moved around as kid and it was great for a time, and as I got older it became a little boring to move around so much. So for me, moving is more of a chore then anything else, but I am not going to be grudge my wife wanting to move. She wants to be out by the end of this year, so I have been busy looking for a job. Wish me luck!

Anyway, that is all I have for now. Thanks for listing and I will see you next time.

Grounded

Yesterday, I am cruising the Internet and my brother IMs me a link to a story that he thinks I should check out. I am not a big news person, but I try to keep in the loop as much as possible. I could not believe what I was reading! This article was about a kid that tried to kill his parents. This kid actually went and meet a hit man and tried to hire this person to kill his parents. Now, I am sure that you are thinking what the heck!! (you can enter your own choice word here). Now the fact that he did this is bad, and I am talking REALLY bad. But trust me, its gets worse...the reason that he thought they needed to be killed was....wait for it, wait...they grounded him! That's right, his mom decided that he needed an attitude adjustment and his grades were slipping. So she did was any good parent would do, she took away his PlayStation and TV privileges away. Nothing that anyone else did not have done to them. I remember losing the privilege to play video games, and not being able to watch TV. To a kid that is horrible thing, and I am sure that at the time I was mad at my folks for doing it, but I would NEVER EVER think about having someone kill them.

All right, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. How you may ask? Well, the kid was not all that smart you see. He was so upset that he made a few threats towards his folks and the mom took things a serious. So, she reported him to the local cops. And they decided to setup a sting operation. I am sure that most of you know where I am going with this. The hit man that they boy met with was an undercover cop! And he was arrested on site, now the boy did not go alone to meet this "hit man". One of his friend's mom; that he trusted took him there! That amazed me so much that I had to re-read to make sure that I actually read it right! There is no mention of her getting arrested, but I don't see how they could not have when she drove him there. Now, I hate to say this but the kid is not going to tried as an adult. Which everyone knows that being that he is 17, he will only be in jail till he is 21 and that is even if they kid him the maximum time in jail. Then after he is out, his records are sealed and he never has to think of it again.

What really gets me, is when stories such as these are mentioned in the news is why they don't mention what medicines that the people are on. You see, there is shut off values or filters if you will. This filters put a stop to ideas like the ones that this kid had. I am sure that everyone has gotten upset and thought I gonna kill that guy that just cut me off in traffic. But you mind takes that idea and gets rid of it, your anger passes and you are over it. Now, take that same situation and put the person on some sort of mind altering drug. This person has the same thought, but his mind being messed up the way that it is does not get rid of that idea until the idea is acted out. Nothing of this nature is ever mentioned, because such a high regard has been set in place for the so called "head doctors" that no one wants to admit that they kill people and don't save them.

Okay, that is enough of a rant. Just one last thing take care of yourself and stay away from "head doctors" they don't know anything about how the mind actually works. Think about it, these are people that get together once a year and vote in so called "new illness".

Halloween

In light of the Halloween, I thought that I would share this with everyone. Enjoy!

The actual concept of Halloween is derived from an early Celtic holiday called Samhein (pronounced sow-in) that took place at the beginning of the winter season on Oct. 31. This day marked the end of summer and the end of food abundance and plant vitality for farmers.

Spirits of the dead were believed to roam freely. On the day known as "The Day of the Dead," living relatives would help their dead loved ones complete a safe journey to the afterlife.

People would paint or carve scary faces on gourds and turnips and disguise themselves in outlandish costumes to scare away the evil spirits that were also thought to be wandering the earth that night.

The Catholic Church, angered by these pagan practices, sought to eliminate them. Pope Gregory decided to declare a new festival of religious observance called All Saint's Day, a day in which every saint would be honored.

A few hundred years down the line, its date was changed so that it would fall on the same day as Samhein.

As part of the custom of All Saints Day, people would dress up in a costume that represented a saint, and young men would go door-to-door begging for food to feed the town's poor.

As the years went by, the customs of Samhein and All Saints Day began to merge and were no longer considered two separate festivals, but rather one joint holiday called All Hollow's Day.

When the Irish population began immigrating to America in the mid-1800s, they brought with them the many European customs of All Hollow's Day. These customs combined with an existing American tradition called "Autumn's Play."

"Autumn's Play" is a celebration in which people gather to sing, feast, light bonfires and watch children parade in costume.

These two festivals shaped present-day Halloween and all of the spooky phenomena that we enjoy today.

Book

Good day to all, well I know that it's not day time as I write this, but heck I am sure somewhere that it's day time. Anyway, it has been awhile since I have written anything. I have been a little busy with life. Getting ready to get married and preparing for the baby and all, not a lot of time to do much of anything else. But, I have been moving things along with my book. Today I got to see the cover and I have to say that it looks great! I made it the picture on my profile so have a look and see what you think. Not much else to say at the moment, so I bid thee all a good night.

Catch Up

Hello everyone! It has been awhile since I have posted. Things have been a little busy in my life for the past couple of months. Since the last time I posted, I informed everyone that I was going to be a father. Things on that front are going very well! The baby is growing and getting stronger everyday. Also, I mentioned that I am going to be getting married in April (yes, right around the corner). Planning for that seems to crawl, but things are getting down. Finally we know there where and when. Now, just to get the invites out and get a wedding dress; and I know that I am not going to have anything to do with that. Those silly sayings, that I am not suppose to see the bride's dress or the bride to be the day of. Not to sure how that last one is going to work, but I am sure something will be worked out. Now, I would like to say that I don't believe in all the hog wash; but alias I cannot I just believe in some of the silly superstitions like that....perhaps, it has something to do with being a little Irish (thinking deeply, and tapping on the side of my head).

Alright, now onto some other news that I have not shared. I dream of mine has recently been granted. I am going to be a published author. This is something that I have wanted since I started writing in middle school. It's a book a poems, called The Warrior Poet. I hope that it will be out before the end of year. So, please take the time to check it out. Well, that it is for now....until later my friends; be safe!

Day Break

Alright, so there is this new show that I got hooked on. Thanks to a certain person (Shoom Zone; check out the site I have it listed under my links). The show is based on a cop that has to re-live what has to be the worst day of his life. The show is awesome, and if you want to check it out you can see the first few episodes by going to http://dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/landing
And for those of you that are I-Man fans Nester Carbonell; Shannon Kelly's husband, he was good in it last night. And, best of all one of the people from another favorite show of mine Mutant X is in it as well. One Victoria Pratt, she was Shalamar and I have to tell you she looks as good as ever. And if you never watched Mutant X you should check that out as well that was another good show that should have never been canned. You might be able to find re-runs in your area if you look, but you can also get the seasons on DVD from just about any site or Best Buy has them as well; that is where I got them at.
Anyway, you should check Day Break out.

Take care!

Hoping

Well, last week I decided that it was time to embark on a dream that I have had for as long as I can remember. I contact a publisher to see if they would be interested in publishing my poems. To my surprise they contacted me and asked me to send them my writtings. Although I am not going to hope for a lot. It would be nice if they wanted to publish the book of poetry that I have been working on. I am going to keep my fingers crossed and let you know what happens.
